Description

Quote Backlinks adds Quoted by {count} below posts with accessible quoting replies. Open a native XenForo popup, see who quoted the post and in which thread, then jump directly to that reply.

Both counts and lists respect the current visitor's normal viewing permissions. Members do not see references from staff-only forums they cannot access. Each quoting post counts once, even if it repeats the same quote.

Key features

• Cross-thread discovery: follow quotes within the original discussion or elsewhere on the forum.
• Visible counts: include only quoting posts the current visitor can read.
• Native overlay: author, avatar, thread title and date, with direct post links.
• Useful pagination: newest first, 20 results per page, with a full-page fallback.
• Automatic updates: creation, edits, merges and permanent deletions maintain relationships.
• Historical rebuild: index older content through XenForo's standard rebuild tools.

Quick setup

1. Install DC/QuoteBacklinks and check your forum style.
2. Open Tools → Rebuild caches → Rebuild quote backlinks and let the historical rebuild finish.
3. Open a quoted post and select Quoted by {count}.

Declared requirements are XenForo 2.2.0+ and PHP 7.2.0+. Local verification used XenForo 2.3.13/PHP 8.4.20; legacy runtime validation remains pending before release sign-off.
