Forum Copilot is an open-source mobile app integration for XenForo.

It allows XenForo forums to work with the official Forum Copilot mobile app on iOS and Android, giving communities a native mobile experience for browsing forums, reading threads, posting replies, conversations, alerts, and push notifications.

For forum owners who want more control, Forum Copilot has also released an open-source standalone XenForo app template on GitHub. This template is designed for building a single-forum mobile app that connects directly to your own XenForo site through the Forum Copilot add-on endpoint. In other words, you can use the hosted Forum Copilot app, or you can use the open-source codebase as the starting point for your own branded app.

Once installed, the XenForo add-on exposes a secure forumcopilot.php endpoint for mobile app communication and connects your forum to the Forum Copilot ecosystem. The standalone app template uses that same endpoint to communicate directly with your XenForo site.

The Forum Copilot app is now free. The former $4.99 purchase and the hosted push service are both free for every forum. Nothing to configure on your side.

What changed in the add-on (1.4.0 to 1.8.5)

• Reactions. The app shows your forum's full reaction set with a tap-to-choose picker and a "who reacted" list. Built-in reactions map to native emoji on both 2.2 and 2.3; custom reactions use their emoji replacement or image.
• Private-conversation push notifications now work reliably. Earlier 1.4.x builds reported "sent" but often never delivered.
• Direct push mode. Forums running their own white-label app can deliver notifications through their own Firebase project instead of the hosted service.
• Cross-platform smart banner ("Open in app") for iOS and Android, with admin options for your own store listings if you ship a branded app.
• Members using the app appear in the online list with a "Using Forum Copilot Mobile App" activity label.
• XenForo 2.2 compatibility. Several features (conversation reply and invite, poll voting, thread deletion, reactions, the activity label) referenced 2.3-only class names and failed on 2.2. All fixed and verified on 2.2.19.
• Following users and marking a conversation read returned HTTP 500 on every version. Fixed.
• The file health check is clean. 1.8.1 flagged 76 files as modified on every install because of how the hash manifest was generated.

Upgrading
Upload the ZIP through ACP > Add-ons > upgrade Forum Copilot. No database changes. Any 1.3.x or later install upgrades straight to 1.8.5. On XenForo 2.2, existing "FC mobile session activity error" rows in the server error log can be cleared after upgrading; new ones stop.

Each release was verified by upgrading XenForo 2.2.19 and 2.3.7 test forums and running the full live API suite against both.
